This year Rothbury raged its first annual, (thats right they're doin' it again next year) Rothbury Festival in Michigan. I have to say that it was a great success and next year this festival, which incorporates a wide variety of music, arts, eco-friendly atmosphere as well as other forms of entertainment, (like an indoor water park), will blow up for sure!
The ticket price was steep so I did expect more than the 30,000 that showed, but this venue has the capacity to host twice this many next year.
Besides the sick line-up, which included Phil Lesh and Friends, Mike, Trey and Fishmens projects (yes they played together too), as well as Snoop Dog, Crystal Method, STS9, Bisco, MMW, YMSB, Widespread and Modest Mouse, just to name a few, Rothbury really went all out on making sure everyone was thoroughly entertained even away from the stages. The biggest and probably most talked about was the enchanting Sherwood Forest, which hosted hammocks galore and allot of festival friendly extras. The security was protecting with virtually no policing and friendly mounties shared quesadillas and the occasional cocktail. Vending was a breeze and the weather, well, beautiful!!! This is definitely a festival to look out for next fourth of July weekend and the pictures are ready for viewing in the gallery!!
